We will have foreign guests for a just a day. They will spend part of the day in Washington but want to have Baltimore crab cakes for dinner before taking the 8 pm train back to New York. So time is quite limited. Can you suggest a restaurant in the Penn Station area (within a few blocks) where we can take them for memorable Baltimore crab cakes? Thanks.

Not really...decent restaurants are kind of thin on the ground around Penn Station. There are a couple of places on Charles Street but not the type of places you%26#39;d go to for a crab cake dinner.

Will you be taking a train between DC and Baltimore?
We%26#39;ll be driving back from Washington with our two cousins around 5:30-6 pm and wanted to treat them to crab cakes before their 8 pm train to NY. Perhaps someone could recommend stopping for great crab cakes between Washington and Baltimore? I hadn%26#39;t thought of that before! Maybe near the harbor, with easy parking? It would have to be rather quick. We%26#39;d have only an hour or so. Thanks.
You may want to stop at G%26amp;M Restaurant in Linthicum, or Timbuktu in Elkridge. They have some of the best crabcakes and are both pretty much on the way from Washington to Baltimore. (They are owned by the same people, so it%26#39;s the same crabcake either way.)
That%26#39;s a great idea! How is the fish at either of those places? One of the guests doesn%26#39;t eat shellfish or crab. (Her loss.) Is there a fish dish you could recommend?
I only ever get the crabcake when I go there, so I can%26#39;t really judge. However, they have extensive menus so I i%26#39;m sure there will be several good options.
Thanks. I%26#39;ll look at their menus on line.
agree, G%26amp;M is the best and an easy stop on the way to baltimore. it%26#39;s not a fancy spot by any stretch, but you%26#39;ll forget all about the decor when you eat the crab cake.
