Closest Hotel to the Action at Winefest

Our house is on 26th; we walkdown in the morning and ride the bus home in the evening.

The Grand (about 20th) and the Dunes Mator (about 30th)are nice and not too far.

Keep this in mind with the bus service, The busses do not run as frequently as they do in the summer months. You can be waiting awhile for that bus this weekend.

Bus schedule is very do-able.

You can post the hours they are open but can you tell how frequently the busses go up the coast or how many are in service. Maybe they will increase the manpower for this weekend but for what I saw this past weekend the bus service was down-graded a good bit. I could have walked half the boardwalk before you say a bus.

Thanks everyone. Unfortunately, every single place I called requires a 12 night minimum and we only want to stay on the 28th. I am so ticked!

I would think since it is this close that threy would want to rent the room and not worry about a 2 night minimum.

If we still cannot find one, I guess we won%26#39;t go!

Try this place http://www.beachwalkhotel.com/

They might do just one night. I%26#39;ve stayed there before and the place is clean, located at 10th and boardwalk. Now one thing to warn is the rooms are very small. But heck, we used it for sleeping at thats all that was important. Hope this helps.

I would not give up yet, Winefest is too good to pass up. I checked expedia and the clarion on 101st street did have rooms for just the 28th and I checked the Francis Scott Key Motel website and they also have rooms for one night http://www.fskmotel.com/main.cfm. FSK is in West OC, which is about a 3min. cab ride to Winefest. Fsk has Marlin Moon Grill on the property and they have some of the best food in OC. Also what the hotels are doing now is holding on to the 2 night min for to get as many rooms booked as they can, but the closer you get to next weekend they will drop it if they have rooms to sell. Good Luck!

I spent three different weeks in Ocean City this summer and ALWAYS saw vacancy signs. There will be plenty of rooms available as long as you don%26#39;t need to stay within 5 blocks of the festival. Marlin Moon at the FSK hotel does have delicious food, just a bit pricy. Other side of the Route 50 Bridge is a good suggestion. I never felt like I had to wait that long for a bus during wine fest, maybe because I%26#39;m generally not in a hurry and enjoy talking to people.

Well, we didn%26#39;t go and by the weather reports, I am glad we didn%26#39;t. They are being pounded by rain and will not see better weather until Monday.

The last thing I would want to do is hang around Inlet park in the rain drinking wine.

Heck, we are just going to Key West in November.
