Best Man in Frederick...

Hey all,

I am the best man for a friend getting married near Frederick and don%26#39;t know enough about the town to plan any sort of bachelor party. We%26#39;re all from outside the area. Unfortunately, the party has the be the night before his wedding so I want to keep it under control but still show him a good time.

Any suggestions anyone might have on something fun to do would be great! Thanks ahead of time!

zrs5k,

I guess it depends on what you mean by ';keep it under control.';

It would help to learn of your idea of the specific events and type of venue that would make for a great bachelor party (to be held the evening before the wedding), AND how far would you be willing to transport the group. It%26#39;s very likely possible it can be done in or near Frederick, but without that, here are some shot-in-the-dark ideas:

If you%26#39;re looking to arrange for a nice, private room in a restaurant where you can celebrate the groom while being fed good steaks and crabcakes, take a look at Dutch%26#39;s Daughter. http://www.dutchs.info

Less formal but still under control, take a look at Brewer%26#39;s Alley downtown, I think they have a private room. http://www.brewers-alley.com

And there are plenty of ';generic'; bars throughout Frederick, if that%26#39;s what you%26#39;re looking for.

Driving 30 minutes will get you to Charles Town, WV, for slots (and possibly live racing, depending on the time of year). http://www.ctownraces.com

And if an hour%26#39;s drive isn%26#39;t a show-stopper, you can be in Washington or Baltimore in that amount of time, where you can many more options at all levels of ';control.';
