coffee/bakery on Rockville Pike?

I%26#39;m going to stop at the Penzey%26#39;s on RV Pike next week on my way to DC and was wondering if there%26#39;s a local coffee shop with good baked stuff in the area. Panera is good, but I like to support local if possible.

The coffee scene on the Pike is pretty much dominated by the big boys.

Mayorga is a good locally-owned chain with excellent baked stuff. The closest location (King Farm) to Penzey%26#39;s is about four miles north--but you won%26#39;t be going much out of your way if you hit it beforehand (assuming you%26#39;re coming down 270).

It%26#39;s not great for coffee, but Bagel City (in the shopping center with TGI Friday%26#39;s) has excellent bagels and other baked goods.
