Dinner in Little Italy?

I%26#39;m staying at the Marriott Waterfront at the beginning of Aliceanna Street this week and looking for a quiet, reasonably priced ($25/person) place to have dinner within a few blocks of the hotel. If Little Italy is actually still Italian (unlike, say the Little Italy in NYC) then pasta would be great. Otherwise, maybe new American.

Also, the last time I was in that area was in 1996, and at that time the few blocks between the Inner Harbor and Little Italy were a somewhat scary area. You definitely didn%26#39;t want to walk to Fells Point because you%26#39;d be going past some really rundown projects, if I remember correctly. Is that still the case?

Thanks!

That area is now ';Harbor East'; and is probably one of the safest in the city. Very upscale, with a Whole Foods and nice bars and restaurants.

I%26#39;ve always liked Sabatino%26#39;s and Chiaparelli%26#39;s myself, both in Littly Italy.

Or Kali%26#39;s Mezze which is in Fells Point which is mediterranean tapas.

It will be a very easy and safe walk from your hotel to Little Italy. I%26#39;d walk around and look at the menus. I like Germano%26#39;s and Amicci%26#39;s. Check out Cinghaile in the Inner Harbor East for some excellent Italian and great wine list. I also like Lebanese Taverna in the same area.
