Summer vacation

thinking of going to ocean city next july/august for family vacation. any ideas and suggestions of area%26#39;s to stay. looking for a hotel or home rental for two familys, 4 adults/ 2 teen agers/ 2 children

Summer vacation

Your question is pretty general and I suggest looking through all the great information here on tripadvisor first.

But in a nutshell Ocean City is a 10 mile long barrier island. The southern end contains the boardwalk, pier and amusement rides. It%26#39;s where most of the action is located which means more crowds and noise. The nothern end of Ocean City is where you%26#39;ll find a slightly less hectic and quieter Ocean City experience, but neither end is to be missed no matter where you decide to stay as restaurants, shopping, mini-golf and all kinds of other entertainment can be found along the entire stretch.

You will find that Ocean City mostly has condos and not houses for rent. However, there are many nice large 3 and 4 beedroom ones that would work for you.

Start with www.cbvacations.com to get an idea of what%26#39;s there. Most do not have 2009 data posted yet.

As mentioned by the previous post you can see rentals at the site suggested, but you will have to wait until the calendar turns to see what the inventory is like for 2009. There are of course numerous hotels and motels. A wealth of info has already been posted on this TA site. Do a few searches and when you have more specific questions as to what you are looking for I will be glad to help.

Actually, 2009 information has been posted on cbvacations for several weeks now. It may not be complete, but some units are definitely already up there for rental next year.

Family Traveler,

For a very large beautiful condo units, you may want to consider the Shark Fin. Right on the beach, approx 3 years old, HUGE kitchen and very large bedrooms (5) plus 3 or 4 Full baths (can%26#39;t recall for sure). All granite counter tops in the kitchens. wrap around decks on the ocean.

It%26#39;s pricey, but very nice. It%26#39;s around 118th street.
