Advice for Wedding Guests Bay Bridge Driving in June

Hello,

We are planning a wedding in Cambridge, MD in June 2009 on a Saturday evening. If anyone has any advice for our guests who will be driving from Baltimore across the Bay Bridge, we%26#39;d appreciate it. The wedding will start at 4pm so we want to give them a realistic estimate of driving time (including cushion for traffic delays) etc..

2-1/2 to 3 hrs should be enough time depending on the weather, traffic,or accidents then all deals are off.

The drive is the worst on Friday evenings. Time really depends on exactly where they live. Mapquest gives reasonable estimates. If anyone lives east of the city (White Marsh, Harford county) maybe going through Delaware would be a better idea.

The traffic will not be as bad in June as they may encounter in July and August. If I was to leave the Baltimore Area for a 4pm wedding with a cushion I would leave about 12:30, and hopefully have time to spare. Congratulations.

With the weekly rental turnover on Saturdays, there will be some mid day Bay Bridge traffic, which will coincide with the time that most of your guests will be crossing. It will not be as bad as later in the summer, but leaving early is always best to avoid traffic. You might want to suggest this to yuo guests and give them ideas for things to do if they cross the Bridge early (St. Michaels, Oxford, etc.)
