NEED INSTANT ADVICE COMMENTS and Recommendations!!
My hubby is returning from Iraq here in the next few days. I am fortunate enough to get to spend 24 hrs with him in the Port of entry.. before he goes to outprocess in Montana while I hold down the for in Western NC. ..
HELP! I need advice on the BEST hotel.. Around $150.00 a night.. close to a GREAT Steak or PRIME RIB.. For my Airman...that serves a cold Miller lite .. if possible.. Then again.. a nice clean comfortable hotel near BWI Airport for the Shuttle!! We only got 24 hrs.. so My hubby wants a great dinner and some time with Momma!!
Any thoughts IDEA and comments.. good or bad is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks Jennifer

**HOT** 24 HOURS and a Returning Solider at BWI**HELPok I%26#39;ve lived in Baltimore all of my life, so I%26#39;ve never had to stay at the airport. I%26#39;ll try to help....here goes...
I%26#39;d stay at the Marriott BWI 1743 W Nursery Rd. 21240
I checked mid-oct and it%26#39;s $119/night. Looks nice and Marriott has a decent reputation; airport shuttle service complementary
If it is NOT rush hour (7-9am, 4-6pm)...I would get a cab (ask the hotel when you check in for cab #%26#39;s, call them right then and tell them what time to pick you up, that way you%26#39;re not waiting around for the cab) and head to Baltimore%26#39;s Inner Harbor. Should be like 20-25 min if no traffic, maybe less.
At the Harbor, for steak, you can do:
Ruth%26#39;s Chris-chain, but my fav, and I LOVE steak
Flemings-also really good
both only give wine lists online, but I%26#39;ve never seen a restuarant that doesnt have miller lite in baltimore.
You can then walk around the Harbor if the night is nice.
Take a cab to Fells Point (catch one at the Inner Harbor Pavillions, Pratt St) and go to local pubs there. Or you can take the water taxi over (depending on the time, I think they stop around 8pm).
In Fells Point, Max%26#39;s on Broadway (Broadway %26amp; Lancaster) has an upstairs cigar bar lounge and they have literally 100 beers on tap. Guys love it.
Walk around Fells Point. All little shops, pubs, etc.
If you can give more specific time details I may be able to help more.
I would also call the hotel, not book online, and tell them the situation. Tell them about late/early check-in, ask what you can do over the phone to expedite the check-in process, explain about Iraq (they may even give you some extras in the room-worth a shot), ask if there is anything special they do can do for honeymoon couples or along those lines to make the stay as romantic as possible.
Thanks So Much!! VERY HELPFUL and Great IDEAS!! I am on it..
i have no advice, but just want to say i hope you both have a WONDERFUL reunion %26amp; enjoy every minute of it!
Also have never had to stay in a Baltimore hotel but here goes. Try the Four Points Sheraton- its 1/2 mile to airport and has compl. shuttle. Prev writer suggestions are good for Ruth%26#39;s Chris or Flemings. You get consistently good steak and atomsphere is good. If you want to forget the romantic atmosphere and get good beef try Fogo de Chao Brazilian Steakhouse at the Inner Harbor. Also a chain but really good variety of beef/ steaks. Check out their website. Take a walk around the harbor and then take a cab back to hotel. Only a few miles. Have fun!!
Thanks... to all!!
I think Hubby wants some dinner and Then we will catch up..
He says he wants a BIG bed and a cool dark room.. after being in that sun for a year!!
Thanks all!!
Well.. He is coming in BWI mid afternoon. 10/5. He doesnt want to fancy.. and doesnt want stale either.
SO I have decided on Holiday Inn BWI airport..
Since I have Priorty club.. and there is a restaurant and bar.. He wants a Miller Lite.. cant blame him.. Big bed dark cold room..and ME! LOL..
Total oppisite of IRAQ!
MY AIRMAN IS COMING HOME%26gt;%26gt; I AM IN TEARS%26gt; He left OCT 08, 2007 and I will bein his arms October 5!!
Noone has clue until you lived it..
Thanks for the replies and keep em coming if you have any advice!!
I am so !@%@$%# HAPPY!!!

i%26#39;m so jealous. my husband passed away 4 years ago at age 36 and your story brings tears to my eyes.
try G %26amp; M and get the crabcakes. any of the nearby bwi hotels should work. enjoy! and thanks to your hubby for serving our country.
don%26#39;t go to G %26amp; M...the man wants a STEAK, not a crab cake!
I understand that G %26amp; M has highly touted crab cakes, but the ambience is not the greatest. let him have a steak if that%26#39;s what he wants!
