Visiting Annapolis Thanksgiving weekend

Our family of 12 (ages 13-72) will be staying on the Eastern Shore near Cambridge for the Thanksgiving holiday. We are planning on spending a day (5-6 hours) in Annapolis on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Looking for recommendations for things to do that would appeal to our group';s age range. Do the harbor cruises run this time of year, and if so, would it be too cold to do that? Will the city be decorated for the holidays yet? Also looking for recommendations for a good place to have lunch. Any thoughts, suggestions etc. would be appreciated. Thanks.

Visiting Annapolis Thanksgiving weekend

Greetings cjm! After poking about a bit, it looks like the normal Annpolis cruise tours will be closed down for the season when you arrive. I would consider a tour of the Naval Academy, or check out the website for Historic Annapolis Foundation www.annapolis.org for ideas on other tours you can book during your stay. You can also get onto the Naval Acadamy grounds with driver%26#39;s license and phot id%26#39;s . Not sure what they would require for your younger travelers - perhaps a school id would suffice. Check out their visitation policy before you go. For that limited amount of time, you might be content to stroll the waterfront and Main Street, State Circle, Church Circle, and find a nice spot for lunch. Depending on your budget, if you want a waterview/waterfront restaurant, I would recommend Chart House, Carol%26#39;s Creek, or perhaps, the Severn Inn - for a spectacular view across the Severn River to the Naval Academy. These all have websites, and you can get an idea of pricing and menu selection to see if they are right for you. Away from the water, there are loads of good options in and around the Annapolis area.
