Knights Inn - Travel Centers of America

I have read two reports on the Knights Inn in Jessup, MD. One said that it had ';Truckers Inn'; on the door of the room. Well, yea, because that%26#39;s what the name of the hotel was about ten years ago when Travel Centers of America took over and brought in Knights Inn to run the motel. Travel Centers of America (TA) runs truck stops throughout the country.

Another report said this place is more like a truck stop. Well, ding, ding, ding: it IS a truck stop.

The best way to get the place to move up to your standards is to contact TA and Knights Inn and tell them of your concerns.

I was there yesterday (October 1, 2008) and found these new situations ...

the all you can buffet is NOT offered on weekends anymore. They could not justify the overhead expense with the amount of or lack of customers, I should say that they got on Saturday and Sunday. The buffet is still offered on a Monday through Friday basis. I will say that when they do have the BBQ ribs (they are not offered on a daily basis, though) but when they ribs are offered, they are the best in the world.

The washing machines for the Knights Inn guests along with the truckers, motorists are RVers, used to be in a room that was very, very dirty. It was so bad that I used to want to wash my clothes again elsewhere because as soon as you brought them out of the machines, they got dirty just from the enviroment.

There have been some changes, new paint on the walls, dryers and washers pulled away from the walls and that floor area swept out. The machines themselves have been cleaned off and the floor is clean.

Very nice changes from what it used to be. It is greatly appreicated by me.

Oops, I forgot to add that they put doors on the door frames that lead into the laundry room. That was a great improvement from keeping down dusty things from coming into the laundry room and noise from the truckers theatre down the hall way. Very nice touch.

I have been reading the reviews of people that have stayed here, I agree with some of the comments.

What I would suggest is to call both customer service numbers and e-mail both customer service offices for Travel Centers of America and Knights Inn.

Tell them what was good, bad or indiffernt about the place and what improvements you would like to see made.

Ask if they have a ';secret shopper'; program and if so, how can you enroll in it.
