Drive or take the bus?

We%26#39;ll be at OC this weekend thru Tuesday and are staying at the Rodeway Inn.

We%26#39;ll have our 3 year old son with us so we won%26#39;t be able to walk the whole boardwalk so I was wondering if it would be better to drive to the inlet lot or maybe try to find a spot on the side streets or if we would be better off taking the bus.

Since its Columbus Weekend and the car show is going on I wasn%26#39;t sure how parking would be and if the buses would be crowded. I just want the easiest way to and from the hotel especially if we%26#39;re dealing with a tired 3 year old.

Drive or take the bus?

I have never been to OC Columbus weekend. However I do believe that driving to the boardwalk area will not be too much of a hassle. The large lot at the inlet should have space, even at its busiest in the summer it is not always full. In the unlikely event that it is full simply head over to the bay side where they have meter parking (you pay for a ticket at a parking kiosk and leave in your windshield). Two blocks and you are on the boardwalk. Either way I would drive and have the convenience of your car and perhaps the stroller.

Car show is at the Inlet Parking Lot.Most likely it will be closed to parking.

I would also drive and find a spot to park in the downtown area. You shouldn%26#39;t have too much of a problem. There are several not so publicized parking lots in the downtown area besides the main one at the inlet. About half the inlet parking lot will be closed off for the car show. Unfortunately, parking meters are enforced until October 15th (I think), so you will have to feed money into of those kiosks and put the receipt with the time stamp on your dashboard (as tpoid mentioned) so the local meter nazi%26#39;s can see you are paid up. I also recommend you put plenty of time on the meter, because the meter nazi%26#39;s are like ';flies on s***'; when it comes to expired parking time.

Buses run every 15 minutes this time of year from 10 am to 6 pm and every 30 minutes after 6 pm. That could get to be a very long wait for a 3 year old...plus you would have to walk across Baltimore Ave. and Coastal highway to catch a bus going in the south bound direction from where you are staying.

Thank you! I never thought of having to cross Coastal Highway to get the bus. I really don%26#39;t want to have to deal with that so we%26#39;ll drive down. We%26#39;ll have to search out some of the other lots so we don%26#39;t have to worry about feeding the meter.

I wish it wasn%26#39;t so expensive to ride the tram, that would be the perfect solution but $9 each ride is insane!!
