Boardwalk Courtyard by Marriott

Just curious to see if any of the OC regulars have any more info on the Courtyard by Marriott that is replacing the Santa Maria on the Boardwalk. Will it be open any time this season? I have never seen a construction project take so long--my kids think the ';scaffolding tunnel'; at the construction site is a permanent part of the boardwalk!!

No, they%26#39;ll be lucky if it even gets done in time to be open for next summer the way things have been going. It is getting a bit like that Stowaway Grand hotel, which took almost 6 years to build!

I knew that the Santa Maria was demolished, but I had no idea a Courtyard would be replacing it!

Does anybody know how tall it will be?

I think that it%26#39;s going to be 5 stories with condos on the top floor.

Just wondering if anyone has any update on this hotel. We want to come to Ocean City in August of 2009 and trying to find a nice hotel. We loved the Fairfield by Marriott in Virginia Beach, so are curious about this hotel on Ocean City. How close are they to being done? Thanks.

Nowhere NEAR being completed as of this past September when we were in Ocean City. Still not much more than just cement, girders and some drywall. We were there the first week in Oct. and stayed at the Holiday Inn on 17th street. We could see the construction taking place from our balcony. Looks like it is coming along to me. The building has been painted the balconies are completed. Probably working on the inside now. The Marriott website says it is opening April 2009.
