My boyfriend and I are going to B-more for his birthday from Nov. 29 - Dec. 2nd.
We%26#39;re staying at the Tremont Plaza so we%26#39;re close to the Harbor.
Any suggestions as to where we should visit while we are there and some nice not to expensive places we can go eat and have a nice time and what%26#39;s the nightlife like.
I%26#39;ve been to B-more about 4 years ago and forget what it%26#39;s like.
He also wants seafood.
Four Day Birthday Celebrationcan%26#39;t help with restaurant suggestions myself.
as for things to do...
please tell us something about your interests, that will give us a place to start. (sports? art? history? architecture? shopping? outdoors %26amp; nature???)
Four Day Birthday CelebrationFor night life you can walk over to the Power Plant Live. For places to eat I would walk to the Inner Harbor East area, many choices, just check out the menus in the window. For seafood, I would go to Cross Street Market and eat at Nick%26#39;s although others would recommend Lexington market and Faidley%26#39;s for crab cakes.
Really both of us are spur of the moment people. If it%26#39;s fun then we really don%26#39;t care what it is.
So narrowing it down to walk we like(I say we because we share so much in common) would be wasteful.
A fun bar is Howl at the Moon. It%26#39;s a dueling piano bar. It%26#39;s good entertainment...not just a bunch of drunk half-dressed people running around....

In no particular order:
Fells POint- pubs/ bars/ good food at a variety of costs/ small shops etc- good for day or night
Little Italy- lots of good food!
Inner Harbor- touristy and the same national chain restaurants but will prob be decorated for Christmas. Will look pretty at night and worth a walk around. ESPN zone, Hard Rock Cafe etc.
Lexington Market- lots of stalls with all kinds of food. Faidleys for old fashioned good crab cakes
Cross St- smaller than Lexington but preferred by many. Nicks- good crab cakes
Power Plant Live- nightclubs/ restaurants
Mount Vernon- shopping, good restaurants, museums [ closed on Mondays as a reminder], Washington monument[this may the time period for the Christmas lighting of the monument- a nice festive event at the base of the monument]- maybe someone will write in if they know the date.
Hampden-[ short cab ride ] cool area with antique shops, shops, restauranrs, bars etc. Fun place. I am almost sure that the homes on 34 th will have their annual holiday displays ready for the WE. You have to go and see to believe! Small city street where all the house are decorated [ to put it mildly]. Google 34 st. Hampden and check it out!
Senator Theatre- [ cab ride] Check out and see whats playing at the historic movie theatre.
Harbor East- as stated by prev writer
Federal Hill- where Cross St Market is- lots of shops, eateries, bars/ pubs etc. A good place to walk around
Have fun!
good job previous posters...
there was a LONG thread on this topic quite recently, but it%26#39;s beyond my capabilities at the moment to find it.
Thanks to those that have posted your suggestions.
I will be checking them out...
You%26#39;ll enjoy Federal hill- 5-10 min cab ride from your hotel. There are a lot of restaurants and bars in that area. Mostly pubs, a few wine bars, cross street market (which has nicks fish house for seafood and big happy hour beers)
Mt. Vernon (2 min cab ride) has more of a classy feel if you%26#39;re in the mood to dress up. Check out the 13th floor bar in the Belvedere - great view... or Red Maple for tapas/trendy atmosphere.
Definitely spend some time in fells point, tons of bars, quaint shops, cobblestone streets
restaurants - i love mamas on the halfshell in canton(reasonable, great seafood), Pazo in fells point for tapas and a nice atmosphere, Tio Pepe is my absolute favorite (more expensive). I%26#39;d avoid the harbor for dining, more chain types of places, overpriced and not as good.
