Baltimore area crabs

Looking for an outside place for crabs. Going to the Baltimore area for the day and just want to eat crabs out on a picnic table by the water. Any suggestions????

Is it more important to eat outside at a picnic table or eat good crabs? These are reviews of the places withoutdoor seating. Bo Brooks didn%26#39;t make either list but they are a Baltimore institution (although I liked there old location much better)

Bo Brooks - Canton

2701 Boston St.

410-558-0202

The sunsets here are spectacular. Oh, and the crabs are great too! But the crab deck over the water and the glass-enclosed dining room does make it hard to keep your eyes on your mallet. Bo Brook%26#39;s has a full menu with even a few non-seafood items.

Jimmy Cantler%26#39;s Riverside Inn

458 Forest Beach Rd.

410-757-1311

Boaters love this place on Mill Creek. Probably because it%26#39;s dang near impossible to find by car. Near Bay Bridge in Annapolis, be sure to call for directions. The wooded locale and picnic tables both inside and out are the perfect setting for picking its hefty crabs.

Captain James Landing - Fells Point/Canton

2127 Boston St.

410-327-8600

The boat-on-land architecture of this landmark at Aliceanna and Fleet streets is puzzling, but its crab deck on the water makes perfect sense. Bypass the restaurant and head across the street to its crab house. On weekdays, an all-you-can-eat (in 2 hours) special encourages efficiency.

L.P. Steamers - Locust Point

1100 E. Fort Ave.

410-576-9294

This corner rowhouse in the rapidly changing Locust Point is a throwback to neighborhood%26#39;s working class roots. Most everything on the menu, besides the spicy steamed crabs, is fried. The view from the rooftop deck is worth the climb, especially since the second floor dining room is charmless and cramped.

You won%26#39;t be outside but this is where I go for crabs.

Mr. Bill%26#39;s Terrace Inn - Essex

200 Eastern Blvd.

410-687-5994

Nothing fancy at this Essex crab house. But who wants fancy when it comes to crabs anyway? Heavy is the adjective Mr. Bill%26#39;s fans use to describe the crabs here. Come early (especially on summer weekends) to get a seat.

These are all in a good downtown location all on the same street right on the harbor.

Canton Dockside, 3301 Boston Street is nice with outside picnic tables with umbrellas. It%26#39;s a restaraunt and bar also so they have lots more than crabs if you want other stuff. Nice fun atmosphere.

Captain James is a good location too but they dont have much else other than crabs and corn on the cob. Beer selection not so good. Atmosphere ehh. I like the other two choices better.

Obrickys is nice also and great location, way expensive for crabs. So if you dont mind paying for upscale, marina atmosphere.... this is a full restaraunt with outside tiki bars.

Obricky%26#39;s Correction !

It is Bo Brooks that I was actually talking about instead of Obrickys. Sorry

And a gentle correction in case anyone IS looking for ';Obrickys';....it%26#39;s Obrycki%26#39;s .

ditto on canton dockside, definitely my favorite.
