I am looking for some information about what to do where to go, where to eat, etc and Most do in:
Baltimore.
I will be there the first week of November.
Thank you all
Baltimore for a first timer...
Those are very general questions, and without knowing your likes and dislikes, budget, etc it%26#39;s impossible to answer.
You may want to spend some time looking at the trip reports here on the forum, they have some good comments on what other visitors have enjoyed. And there is a ';things to do'; link on the left of this page that could give you some ideas.
Enjoy your trip, and your trip planning!
Baltimore for a first timer...
A ';must'; would have to be Fells Point, an historical seaport neighborhood with many fine restaurants.
Another would be Inner Harbor/Aquarium; or the B%26amp;O Railroad Museum - if it%26#39;s your thing.
Plenty to do...
tell us more about what you enjoy...sports? art? whatever you can tell us about your interests will help us tell you what to do!
Well we are a couple of 27 years old, we like sports, opera, fine arts, museums, sightseeing,
In relation of food sometimes we try to find a pub with happy hour, a good traditional english afternoon tea, chineese food, italian, a good cofee and pastries.
We are lookins for a most do and don麓t miss :)
Thanks Again
ok..one might be the lexington market (at the same location since 1782)...it%26#39;s a fascinating place %26amp; faidley%26#39;s crab cakes are excellent.
you%26#39;ll find lots of ';pub'; type places to eat in fells point %26amp; it%26#39;s a really neat neighborhood to walk around in. another ';must-see'; neighborhood IMO is Mt. Vernon, for the history %26amp; architecture. the Walters is located there.
we have some truly excellent museums...both the Walters and the Baltimore Museum of Art are wonderful. Sports Legends at Camden Yards is a nice one (maryland specific) and if you%26#39;d like to also see Babe Ruth%26#39;s birthplace %26amp; museum, you get a discount with a ticket for both. Geppi%26#39;s Entertainment Museum looks like great fun, too - it%26#39;s also located at Camden Yards.
i checked the lyric opera%26#39;s schedule, but they%26#39;ll be between productions while you%26#39;re here. but on the thursday, friday %26amp; saturday, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will be performing (Sibelious).
hope this is some help %26amp; i know others will have more suggestions!
Yes, is very helful, I am taking notes and also I will check for ';Sibelius'; Thank you for mention it.
I am looking forward to be in Baltimore.
Thanks Again, and thank you everyone for taking the time to write in this post.
i wish i could be more helpful re: specific restaurants, but i rarely eat in baltimore...you did mention italian, though. we have a ';little italy'; which is not at all far from the inner harbor, which has a gazillion restaurants. some have been there for many many years %26amp; mostly serve the traditional old fashioned italian...some are newer %26amp; have other options...but it%26#39;s still a true italian neighborhood, hope someone else who eats there more often will chime in with specific recommendations!
First, I%26#39;d familiarize yourself with a map so you can see the neighborhoods. Yahoo%26#39;s maps show them if you zoom in.
Food:
Mezze in Fells Point, seafood/mediterranean tapas.
Pazo in Fells Point, also tapas, slightly more expensive, better ambience.
Dudas next to Mezze, pub food.
Little Italy Pizza in Fells Point (not Little Italy) for pizza.
Sabatinos, Chiapparelli%26#39;s, DaMimmo%26#39;s all in Little Italy, italian food.
Bo Brooks in Canton for seafood.
Beer: Max%26#39;s on Broadway in Fells Point, more beers than you have ever seen on tap in one place and a cigar bar upstairs.
Stay away from food at the Inner Harbor Pavillions (Pratt St and Light St). They are all chains and nothing great. Stay away from Phillips, I%26#39;m sure they are great for seafood in the midwest where there is no water for miles, not here.
There are three main ';bar'; neighborhoods around the harbor: Fells Point, Canton, Federal Hill.
I%26#39;ve never been big on museums. The Aquarium is cool, so is the Science Center.
def go to Vaccaro%26#39;s for coffee and pastries. Original one is in Little Italy, and they opened another in Canton.
For the ';bar'; neighborhoods, the central points are:
Fells Point-Broadway and Thames. Bars up and down both sides of both.
Canton-';the square';. O%26#39;Donnell St and S Linwood Ave.
Federal Hill-Light and Cross Sts.
