Valantines Day

I%26#39;m looking for a good hotel/restaurant to go to for Valantines day. It would be nice to find a nice hotel with a restaurant on site, but I haven%26#39;t had much luck. I%26#39;m looking in Washington D.C. too, but the prices have been outrages considering the economy that we are in.

If anyone has any ideas let me know. I%26#39;m willing to spend some extra money if its unique and classy.

thanks.

Hmmmmmmm.... there are a few hotel/steak restaurant combos but otherwise, I%26#39;m not a huge fan of hotel restaurants around here, maybe some of the other posters will have some ideas... you may want to consider staying in Harbor East or Fells and you%26#39;d be very close to a lot of good restaurants. Some favorites in the area are Pazo (tapas style, swank atmosphere, try the house red if you don%26#39;t want to spend a fortune), John Stevens, and Meli (next to the Admiral Fells inn)

Harbor east has some high end chains steps from the hotels (Flemmings, Oceanaire, Roys) and Little Italy is right around the corner... I love Da Mimmo for romance or Amiccis for a less expensive, more casual environment (but amazing Italian).

hope that helps!

No hotel attached but try Kali%26#39;s Court in Fells Point- you could always go to B+B afterwards or try the new Hilton not too faraway. Charleston is also a great restaurant. Ixia on Charles St- very romantic. Sotto Sopra on Charles St.

Good recommendations above! Just note if budget is a concern, you may want to avoid Charleston, pretty pricey. Another favorite that I forgot in the fells area is the Black Olive - it%26#39;s very small on an adorable street, and they let you choose your own fish and fillet it in front of you at the table. Great spot.

Harbor East is your best bet for a nice hotel with nice restaraunts. You have your choice of highly rated restaraunts on this site and me personally that are located a block or two away from the hotels. Restaraunts as mentioned above Pazzo, Charleston, Oceanaire, Roys. Also Chingali%26#39;s not mentioned. They will not break the bank. You can plan to spend about $100 to $150 for 2 with drinks.

I would make reservations sooner than later, all of these places book fast.

I%26#39;ve been looking around....Some of the Hotels actually have some good deals...The Marriott Renaissance and the Hyatt both have pretty nice rooms with a view and have a decent restaurant onsite....kinda nice not to have to leave the hotel....especially when its sooo cold out. Both hotels also have the arrival champagne and chocolate covered strawberry%26#39;s to make it a little more romantic.

I would second the recommendation of Kali%26#39;s Court. It%26#39;s not within a hotel but I would recommend staying at Henderson%26#39;s Wharf which is a short walk away (or Kali%26#39;s Court offers free limo pickup and dropoff to and from hotel/restaurant).

one note on the hyatt, i might be wrong, but I think i remember reading that Pisces restaurant closed - maybe they still use it for special events? I would call ahead.

the hotel itself is beautiful though, especially if you get one of the rooms with the glass walls and harbor view.
