baltimore girls weekend

A few friends %26amp; I want to do a girls weekend in Baltimore. We are looking to spend a relaxing few days just being together, something we haven%26#39;t done in years w/o husbands and kids. We would like a suggestion for a nice hotel that isn%26#39;t too pricey, but has a pool and hottub. We%26#39;d also appreciate suggestions for an area to eat out in at night- we are in our mid 30s and want to go somewhere a little lively, but not geared toward 20 year olds. Any suggestions?

Girls weekends are the best. I believe the Marriott Waterfront in Harbor East has a pool and hot tub. Any of the hotels in that area would be my pick - easy walk to the harbor attractions and you can walk to Fells Point with it%26#39;s cute little shops, restaurants, and galleries (try Spa Sante around the corner for some pampering).

In terms of nightlife, I think you%26#39;d enjoy Pazo (pazorestaurant.com) - tapas style, large tables, good wine, fancy atmosphere - perfect for girls nights. (there are a lot of other restaurant options within walking distance of the harbor east hotels as well)

Another area that I like is Mt. Vernon (downtown) - the old Belvedere hotel has a lounge called the 13th floor with one of the best views in the city. Lots of great spots to grab a drink in the area, Ixia and Red Maple are two nice ones. There%26#39;s a hotel in that neighborhood that has great big suites with good rates, called the Tremont Plaza - I don%26#39;t think they have a pool though.

Not sure of hotels that would be good for your group but Harbor Place would satisfy your needs of some shopping, nice resturants and nice area to see. Plus you%26#39;l be walking distance to some cocktails clubs, bars and taverns for the evenings.

I%26#39;d suggest either Mt Vernon or Fells Point for both your hotel and night out.

Here%26#39;s the Mt Vernon Cultural District%26#39;s web site that lists a bunch of hotels and restaurants etc:

My personal recommendations for bar hopping (I%26#39;m the same age as you) in Mt Vernon are: Brewer%26#39;s Art, Owl Bar, Dionysus, and the Tusk Bar (upstairs) in the Brass Elephant restaurant. Someone else recommended the 13th floor int he Belvedere, which is good also, but they often have a cover to get in, and a DJ on Fri and Sat nights, so be aware of that.

Here%26#39;s a web site for Fells Point: http://www.fellspoint.us/

In Fells Point, for bar hopping I%26#39;d recommend: Wharf Rat, Cat%26#39;s Eye, Bertha%26#39;s, Slainte, and One Eyed Mike%26#39;s. These are all within easy walking distance of each other. Check out staying at Henderson%26#39;s Wharf- they have a pool and a hot tub: http://www.hendersonswharf.com

I like the Inner Harbor East area. Easy walking distance to Little Italy and Inner Harbor. Nice, trendy shopping and eating in the area. Check out Hilton Garden Suites/Homewood Suites with access to health club.

Just a note on ambiance - if you%26#39;re looking for lounges, dressing up, drinking wine and martinis, all of the Mt. Vernon recommendations are right up your alley (along with Pazo and the rest of harbor east).

If you want to go casual- drink some beer, and have fun in pubs that aren%26#39;t overrun with 21 year olds, then the spots mentioned above in fells point would be perfect.

All options will be a blast, just different

Have fun!
