Mt. Vernon neighborhood - Feb 15 - 17

Hi all --

I am headed to the Mt. Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. We are staying at the Peabody Hotel for a little get away.

My interests are sports, outdoors, interesting architecture, and good food.

Not into art, opera, theatre.

So posters, what would you recommend that we do while we are in your fine town for a few days.

Mt Vernon is nice - cultural area, good restaurants and nightlife. You have Tio Pepe which is one of my favorites, Red Maple (tapas), Ixia, Minato has good sushi and awesome pho soup, belvedere hotel has the owl bar downstairs, and the 13th floor with some of the most beautiful views in the city (although I%26#39;d go there early before the DJ or bands start)... I%26#39;m sure everyone will jump in with some more spots, lots of choices in that area.

Leaving the neighborhood, there is a lot to do as well. Inner harbor has the tourist attractions - aquarium, shops, chain restaurants. take the water taxi over to fells point... walking around fells is always a favorite, lots of great shops, cobblestone streets, restaurants. at night, some of the pubs have live music.

in terms of sports, you might be out of luck this time of year... camden yards tours don%26#39;t resume til the end of February. there is a sports museum next to the stadium. but if it%26#39;s nice out, baltimore is a very walkable city, you%26#39;d get lots of exercise just walking around checking everything out.

re: architecture - I%26#39;ll leave that to someone who knows better than me.

If you%26#39;re a sports fan, I think you%26#39;ll enjoy the Sports Legends museum next to Camden Yards. It%26#39;s neat and worth the short walk from the harbor. The Babe Ruth museum is close by, too, and it won%26#39;t take you all day to do both.
