Trip Report: BWI to Hampton Inn Camden yards via light rail

The light rail is a great way to get to this hotel from BWI.I ended up comer in earlier than the husband. As advised by the hotel staff, I got off at the Convention Center stop because it was along a heavily trafficked and well lighted area. From the station, I walked a couple of blocks up Pratt Street, opposite the flow of traffic, and around the corner of South Paca street to the Hampton Inn. It was a very short walk, and I felt perfectly safe. The Hampton Inn was very nice, with very friendly staff.

The light rail was extremely convenient for traveling back and forth between the hotel and MICA (Bolton Hill) for parents%26#39; weekend, and the trains ran frequently. They don%26#39;t run very late on Sunday evenings, so we had to use a cab once.

The hotel offers wonderful amenities for the price. We always found plenty to eat at their breakfast bar. I loved the 24 hour free coffee/tea/hot chocolate in the lobby. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. For some reason, we got a suite...mini kitchen area, and couch and chair sitting area, plus the expected free wireless internet service. Maybe because my husband is a Hilton Honors Club member?

The local sports bars are a good place to have a beer or glass of wine. We liked the cozy feeling of Sliders and enjoyed looking at all the sports memorabilia. On a return trip, we%26#39;d like to visit the Babe Ruth and Sports Legends museums as well as the multitude of great Baltimore art museums. We just could not fit it all in on this trip, so will have to return!

Thank you, shannonziggy. We are proud but mainly so happy that our daughter loves MICA.
