easiest way to get to JFK airport

I need to get to NewYork JFK Airport from Baltimore. hat can be the most economical way of doing it. Does any train/ bus directly go to the JFK airport. I do not want to go to the city and then go to airport from there because I have an international flight to catch with plenty of luggages.

Thanks

As far as I know, there is no direct way from Baltimore to JFK. The easiest way to get to JFK, short of renting a car and driving, would be to take Amtrak to Penn Station in New York. From Penn Station, take a taxi to JFK ($45 plus tolls, I think).

Alternatively, you could take the LIRR from Penn Station to Jamaica Station and then the JFK AirTrain to the airport.

There is information about the AirTrain and taxis on this page:

You also might want to post this in the NY forum, as their experts will have better information about taxi fares, etc...

If you plan in advance you can fly from BWI airport on Southwest to Islip airport on Long Island. Fares are as low as $100 if you catch them at the right time, and the flight only takes an hour or so.

At Islip (McArthur Airport) you can catch a free shuttle to the train which takes you to catch the JFK Airtrain at Jamaica station. The LIRR fare from Islip to Jamaica is only $5 and takes about an hour between Islip and Jamaica station.

Why not just book a flight to JFK?

';Why not just book a flight to JFK?';

May not pass the ';economical'; part of the original post. On an anecdotal note, I%26#39;ve had enough horrible experiences with flights from BWI to JFK that I%26#39;ve sworn off of them after 2 missed International connections and one where the connection wasn%26#39;t missed but I had to run for my life to make the plane, with my exit row seat given away and me stuck in a middle seat for a 9 hour flight.

These were not weather delays but all ATC.
