For mid-Jan/Feb 2009 travel, which route is the easiest to travel - or least weather traumatic? I%26#39;ve travel b/w Washington/California I-5, but never cross country road trip. Saw two routes, one via Reno/Colorado %26amp; the other route exits through Las Vegas/Texas areas. I thought the southern states might be easier because it%26#39;s in the sun belt; but understand there are mountains to cross too. I would suspect if we exit via Reno - the midwest may have snow, drifts, floods, etc., for this time of year? I%26#39;ve driven in snow many times, but often times other drivers are not as safe, is what scares me.
