Bethesda Hotels near the metro

Hi, can anyone recommend a few Bethesda hotels that are (a) near the red line, and (b) good for a family with little kids (so suites are best). Thanks!!

';Near the red line.'; Do you mean by foot or by car? Plenty of hotels are a 5-10 minute drive or courtesy shuttle bus ride from the Metro. Just a few, however, are walking distance.

What is your budget, how many kids, and do you have specific travel dates? The hotels closest to the Metro are not ';suite hotels'; in the way budget-minded travelers think of the term, i.e. all-suite properties. So depending on when you%26#39;re traveling, you may experience sticker shock by the price of their regular rooms, let alone their suites.

Hyatt Regency is right on top of the Metro in downtown Bethesda.

The Doubletree is a few blocks away from the Metro.

The Bethesda Marriott--in spite of its name, it really isn%26#39;t walking distance to downtown Bethesda. Or another Metro station, for that matter. But it%26#39;s often a good deal less expensive than the two above.

The closest all-suite hotel I can think of is Marriott%26#39;s Bethesda Suites. But this one%26#39;s probably %26gt;10 minutes from downtown Bethesda and the Metro.

2 children, next weekend for 3 nights, no budget but would be nice to spend less than $200/night if possible. It doesn%26#39;t have to be an all suite hotel, but would like a separate room for the kids to sleep so that my husband and I can stay up with a light on...

I thought the Marriot Suites looked perfect until I realized its nowhere near the metro.

Thanks for the suggestions.. I will look into them.

Oh, and I meant near by foot to the extent feasible. Thanks again!

I had some major brain freeze and forgot about the Residence Inn in downtown Bethesda, that%26#39;s an easy walk to Metro and prices are cheap for next weekend ($139/$125 AAA). You get the bedroom and the kids get the sofa bed in the living room.

Great, thanks!
