Marlin Cove II

I%26#39;m looking for any info about Marlin Cove II. We%26#39;re thinking about a weekly rental there in June. I%26#39;d love any opinions about the neighborhood, pool, location, etc.

Marlin Cove II

I have not stayed there, but the location is good (120th St.) with Wawa convenience store, 7-11, CVS, Food Lion and Crabcake Factory all within walking distance. Should be on the lower end pricewise to rent as the units are 2 blocks from the ocean. They appear to be 2-story wood frame townhomes with garages.

Make sure that no one in your party has issues with stairs. As soon as the ocean/bay is viewable from a unit, prices go higher. Get lots of pictures of anything you are considering renting, as like any community with rentals I am sure there are pristine and trashy units available.

Marlin Cove II

Our place is in Marlin Cove II. As stated above, it is a great location and within walking distance to lots of things, including a shopping center (Food Lion) and even Gold Coast Mall down a couple blocks. Northside Park is also within walking distance if you have kids, pets or both. But if you are going in June and plan to do any boardwalk stuff, it can be a long ride down Coastal Hwy if you plan on driving.

The insides of the units are nice and all fairly similar. Garage, open bottom floor with kitchen/half bath and living area, then upstairs to two bedrooms/two baths. Some units have an additional loft space that is used as extra bed or kids play/sleep area.

They have two pools, one regular size square and one regular kidney shape. They do enforce the no alcohol rules, and make sure you get pool tags as they enforce that also. Pools are nice for a dip but can get crowded depending on the kid population at that time.

Last thing, depending on how many of you are going, parking can get crowded in summer. You have two spots directly in front of the house and then an overflow that fills up quickly. But depending on your neighbors, do not park in front of their unit as some can be pretty nasty about it.

Thanks so much for the info. I really like the townhouse we%26#39;re thinking about renting. My only concern is distance to the beach. How far back is it on 120th street?

Marlin Cove II is not that far a walk to the beach, really. About two blocks or a little more at the most to hit the sand, depending on where your unit is located. And it%26#39;s all sidewalk up to Coastal Highway, then across and up to the beach. There is a huge crosswalk at 120th that makes it easy to cross Coastal Hwy.
