Week of April ist with 4 year old ???

We are trying to plan our spring break vacation. We were thiking about coming here. Can anybody tell me what kinds of things there are to do in the spring with a 4 year old daughter??

Springtime is great for building sandcastles on the beach with kids. You practically have the whole beach to yourself. Flying a kite as well for some reason keeps young kids%26#39; attention. And, you can always take a side visit to Assateague to see the ponies and other wildlife. Also you can rent a surrey and cruise along the boardwalk.

A few years ago when I took my young nieces and nephews to OC in the springtime, beforehand, I made up a scavenger hunt type game for them to do while we were in OC...for the younger ones the items were easy to locate...a pool, a boat, etc...for the older kids it was a little harder, a hotel with 5 plus stories, a restaurant serving a particular dish, etc.

As soon as they checked everything off their list, then I took them to one of the souvenir shops for them to pick out their prize. They loved it.

Plenty of Spring things to do. Places will be sprucing up for the up coming summer. Most spots will be open during the weeknds for sure but some don%26#39;t during the week.

I would suggest getting hotel with a indoor pool. The Convention center holds activies so you%26#39;ll need to check that out.

I would agree you NEED a hotel(or even a condo) with an indoor pool. The ocean WILL be freezing cold in april, and unless you have abnormally warm weather the beach itself can be very uncomfortable due to the high wind that is always present in ocean city.

The weather in april is very unpredictible. True, you can build sandcastles, fly kites, throw frizbie, but I think you will find - when doing those things with a 4yr old,(on a cold day) a little goes a long way. -this is where the indoor pool will come in real handy-

Also, I would suggest if you are planning to take your child to the amusment parks ie, Trimmpers and Jolly Rogers, I would find out beforehand if they are even open that early in the year.

There%26#39;s always room to do some shopping too! Great outlets in/near Ocean City MD.
