Sleep Inn?

Just wondering about a Sleep Inn %26amp; Suites in Ocean City listed in the 2009 Choice Hotel Directory that I received yesterday. It looks like the hotel will be/is located on Baltimore Avenue between Division Street and 1st Street. Is this a brand new hotel or was it something else before? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sleep Inn?

They don%26#39;t have anything listed on the Sleep Inn website for Ocean City, but maybe this is something that%26#39;s in the works and just hasn%26#39;t been formalized yet. I don%26#39;t believe it is new construction. Don%26#39;t recall seeing any new construction in that area when I was down there last summer. Maybe they%26#39;re taking over the Haven Hotel? That%26#39;s the only one I can think of in that area.

Sleep Inn?

Perhaps it%26#39;s the Madison Beach Motel? They don%26#39;t seem to have a website anymore and that%26#39;s in that area as well.

The address listed for the Sleep Inn is 11 North Baltimore Avenue. I just searched the address and it looks like the Avelon Inn was here before but was demolished last year. I guess that the hotel is being rebuilt as a Sleep Inn.

Thanks for the information. :)

That seems to be the trend, knock down the smaller motels/hotels and replace with a name brand fancier place.

Which is not a bad thing, nicer, spacious rooms and usualy a pool is added. Those older hotels didn%26#39;t have a private balcony with the rooms too.

The bad thing is knocking down a little history of OC and of course the room rates are very high for a newer hotel.
