It%26#39;s my Dad%26#39;s 80th birthday and he%26#39;s a steak lover. Has anyone ever tried Lewnes or Ruth Chris in Annapolis for lunch? The folks prefer going out for lunch. thanks.
Lewnes or Ruth Chris Steakhouse for lunch?
I%26#39;ve never heard of Lewnes, but RC is a chain and is consistently excellent.
Lewnes or Ruth Chris Steakhouse for lunch?
I have only been to them for dinner so I cannot comment on lunch (not even sure if they serve lunch ... you might want to check). I can say though that Lewnes is a great locally owned steak house that most Annapolitans favor over Ruth Chris. Both are good but I personally always support the local restaurant over a chain.
Neither Lewnes Steakhouse nor Ruth Chris is open for lunch. Morton%26#39;s Steakhouse also opened up at the new Westin hotel in Annapolis but they are dinner only. Most really good steakhouses only open at 5:00 p.m. I understand about the going to lunch part. My parents eat their main meal during mid day.
Can you can convince them to eat early in the evening, say 5:45? Some of the restaurants, like Ruth Chris, even offer early bird special pricing, eventhough, I vote with the previous poster about supporting the local place Lewnes and frankly we have never had a bad meal/experience there. We did have some issues at Ruth Chris a couple of times. I don%26#39;t recommend making a reservation right when they open though. We have done this a couple of times and found the quality of the food and service a bit spotty. Let them get those broilers going and some service started before you get there.
Hands down, Lewnes is the place to go! Food is so much more flavorful and the atmosphere is 100% better. It%26#39;s not noisy and the service does make a difference. Enjoy!
Not sure when you were planning on going but Ruth%26#39;s Chris is open for lunch between now and Christmas Eve. I think they go back to normal hours after the holiday.
I have never been to Lewnes but I do not believe they are open for lunch at all.
Happy BD to your Dad!
Thanks for everyone%26#39;s help. Looks like we%26#39;ll be going for an early dinner at Lewnes.
