Chesapeake Bay Fishing Charters

I%26#39;m looking to plan a bachelor%26#39;s party in april/may and a good day activity I thought could charter a boat in the chesapeake. There are sooo many to choose from and I%26#39;m hoping I can have some recommendations if anyone has had any experience.

I live in Gaithersburg so I%26#39;d like to find a boat that leave from the ';western'; shore. Also, I%26#39;ll have more people than 6 since that seems to be a magic number.

Chesapeake Bay Fishing Charters

We go at least once each year out of Chesapeake Beach - The Rod N Reel. The web site has a list of all the captains that dock there and lists how many people each can carry. Some are only licensed to carry 6, but most can carry more than that. Couple of things to note - Late April %26amp; May is the season for ';trophy'; rockfish - you can charter for a full or half day. If you catch your limit of 1 per person, most captains will return to the dock (this happened to us after 15 minutes of fishing!) So - when you talk to the captain, make sure you tell him you want a day on the bay - this is a party - not just a fishing expedition. They also charge extra for more people - Our captain charges $50.00 for each person over 8. Finally, you can post on www.tidalfish.com - lots of charter fishing captains lurk on that site, and will respond to any request like this. Oh, I forgot - the farther south you go, the better the fishing - so you don%26#39;t want to charter out of the Baltimore area,IMO.
