We will be in Baltimore at an inner harbour hotel for New Years Eve and day. We have a car, so can get around easily. Looking for dinner suggestions. We%26#39;re open to almost anything, hopefully under $100. Thanks!
New Yeras Eve and day dinners???
Need some more details..such as what kind of food do you like? Where are you staying? Also, I presume you mean under $100 per person. Be fair warned, it will be a zoo, fun zoo, but a zoo!
New Yeras Eve and day dinners???
Since you are staying at an inner harbor hotel, I would definitely consider parking the car and leaving it there. There is plenty to do in the immediate area with no need to drive. You can be there for the firework display at dark. As far as dinner can you tell us your ages and what you are looking for- upscale, casual fun, romantic etc.
We are open to almost any kind of food. Ideally spending under $100 for two, if that%26#39;s possible. We generally prefer more casual and even funky, down home type places, but for NYE, a little more upscale is fine. We were considering Chiangale or Mezze for NYE. We will try to hit Faidleys for lunch on our way into town. Someone had suggested Blue Fin for steamed crabs. Are they good or are there better suggestions for crabs and do you think they would be open for dinner on NY day? By the way, we are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on President St., if that helps and yes, I would prefer to leave the car there during our stay.
You cannot go wrong with Mezze. I used to work there and everyone I%26#39;ve sent there loves it. My family and I go at least once a month, and are in fact going tonight.
Carey,
Do they take reservations?
Thanks,
Jeff
One suggestion would be to head over to Fells Point for dinner and drinks. Crowded- yes, but fun and casual atomsphere with all of the pubs/bars and restaurants available there. Check out Fells Point web site and scout out what restauarant you might like to try [ I like John Steven Ltd for seafood]. Then you could enjoy the festiviies for the rest of the night- fireworks etc. For steamed crabs on NY day I like Nicks Fish House on Insulator Drive- it would be a VERY short cab ride or you could drive there [ free parking] good food, good steamed crabs or fun atomsphere. I would not suggest Phillips Seafood in the inner harbour! I think you will find there will plenty to do in the area and find no lack of places to eat, drink and be merry!
Would all you Americans please stop spelling ';harbour'; when you mean ';harbor';? Thank you.
:)
Wow, most restaurants I was interested in (Mezze, Kalis, Pazo), are already booked for New Years Eve. Unless we want to eat dinner at 5:00! The only reservation I could get was at Chingiale. Is it worth it?
Have never been, but the reviews are very good! Friend of mine took her parents for anniv. dinner and she said it was the best Italian food she ever had! Cindy Wolf is owner and her other restaurants are fantastic! I think it would be a good choice.
YES! IMO Cindy Wolfe is the best chef in Baltimore and it is the best Italian in Baltimore. Beautiful bar, wine list is extraordinary; in order to save money, ask for the featured wine list, usually very reasonably priced. Also, you will be able to walk there from your hotel.
Crabs will not be local, you may want to save your money until you visit us in the summer or fall. I like the crab cakes at Nick%26#39;s in Cross Street market better than Faidley%26#39;s; call directly to make sure any place is open.
