I%26#39;m researching a first time trip to OC and I%26#39;m looking for recommendations. We are traveling with a group of 5 families that range from couples only, toddlers, school age, to teenagers. Depending on the cost we may stay 4 days to 1 one week. Open to motels, hotels, condos, homes. The things we would like:
- walk to the beach without crossing the street (lots of little kids with beach gear). Doesn%26#39;t matter if we have a nice view.
- Clean!
- at the least have a refrigerator in the room.
- indoor pool (would be nice)
- we%26#39;d like to have rooms near each other and possibly have an area right outside some of the rooms where grownups could socialize after the little ones are asleep yet still be close by. I%26#39;m not sure the high rises would be a good option for this.
Thanks!
Multi family lodging recommendations
If you do not want to cross the street to get to the beach you want to look for hotels or condos that are oceanblock or oceanfront. If you go the hotel route you could book a oceanfront hotel but get a non-oceanfront room, if a view is not important this will save you money. If you want the rooms to be in the same area you will have a hard time finding a condo building that has 5 rentals all in the same area of the condo building for rent at the same time. If this is important I would look more towards a hotel. I cant think of anywhere specific right now but I am sure you will get lots of help on this forum.

Wow, 5 families will be tough. What you need is a big beach house but unfortunatley OC does not have any. Whats the total sleeping amount? You may want to call one of the condo rental places and see if they have any ideas. Check these links out for help.

Here%26#39;s an 8 bedroom house right on the boardwalk at 7th St.: http://coastalporch.com/oc.htm
Look at the Virtual Tour, it looks very new inside.
We%26#39;ve rented one big house in the past (in Narragansett, RI). But, I think we need a little more personal space so we all stay friends. :) I%26#39;m definitely leaning towards individual hotel rooms. Thanks.
if you do end up going the hotel route... when you do book the rooms call the local number for the hotel directly, dont call a central reservations nationwide number. Ask for the front desk manager and explain that you are looking to book your rooms and that you want to request all the of the room are together. They will probaly tell you they will put the request in the system but they cannot gaurantee it. Chances are you will all end up together but they have to say that in case of plumbing issues ect. hope this helps.
Thank you! The Cayman Suites looks promising.
