Aquarium & Breakfast

My husband %26amp; I will be in Baltimore for the weekend of Saturday, Dec. 6 and Sunday, Dec. 7. We are thinking of visiting the Aquarium on Sunday. I read on the website that the aquarium has Dollar Days that weekend. Does anyone know what that means?

Also, we will need to get breakfast Sunday, any suggestions near the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel? How is the Orioles Grill in the hotel for breakfast?

Please don%26#39;t tell me anything bad about the Sheraton; we will be attending my husbands company Christmas party, so we have no choice in hotels.

Dollar Days at the Aquarium is simple--$1 basic admission made possible by a number of corporate sponsors (a huge savings, normally it%26#39;s $21.95).

Other downtown attractions also cut their admissions to $1 the same weekend. Complete list at http://tinyurl.com/69fjnb

Re: breakfast--if you want a real ';knock your socks off'; breakfast, I%26#39;d head to Fells Point and the Blue Moon Cafe. Otherwise, you%26#39;ll probably be fine just sticking with the Sheraton for standard fare. Have never eaten there, but I suspect that--for breakfast anyway--there%26#39;s little to distinguish it from the other Harbor hotel breakfasts.

My 2 favorite places for brunch are Little Havana%26#39;s on Key Highway[ doesn%26#39;t look like much from the outside but has great harbor views and endless Marguarita%26#39;s and Bloody Marys] 2 miles from your hotel on the other side of the harbor and Nicks Fish House on Insulator Dr [ endless Mimosa%26#39;s and Bloody Marys and all you can eat buffet] also about 2 miles from you hotel at the base of the Hanover St bridge

thanks so much! I don%26#39;t know if visiting during Dollar Days is a good thing or a bad. It will save us $ but will we see the fish?

The earlier you go to the aquarium, the happier you%26#39;ll be. I%26#39;d call the concierge and ask about reservations, not sure if they%26#39;ll take them on dollar days but it doesn%26#39;t hurt to ask.

Don%26#39;t miss the boat parade on Saturday night, even if you have to duck out of the Christmas party for 1/2 hour. It%26#39;s only a block away and a sight to behold.

0106, you mentioned the parade of boats.

My wife and I will also be in Baltimore the 6th %26amp; 7th. What time is the parade of lighted boats?

Where would be a good place to watch it? Could it be seen from one of the inner harbor restaurants while dining?

Dee1Dee I hope you don%26#39;t mind my question in your thread.

Steve

Boat parade begins around 6 in Fells Point and comes around the Inner Harbor. The best view is outside but you may be able to see from a window seat in the Inner Harbor or at McCormick and Schmick%26#39;s. Here%26#39;s a link for holiday events http://baltimore.org/holiday

What about Sunday Brunch at the Rusty Scupper? Never been but it sounds good, plus the views can%26#39;t be beat.

The view is great; the food is medicore. I%26#39;ll only go for drinks if out of town guests insist.
