Any other way to get to Kent Island?

Attending a wedding on Kent Island.

Any other way to get there than from

Baltimore via Annapolis? Want to avoid

that damnable bridge. How about flying

into Dover or ???

Swim?

Seriously though... Why not the bridge? Are you a bridge phobe? (Me too if that is why.)

They do have a service that will drive your car for you so you can cower in the back seat.

Flying into Dover is really not an option. You could fly into Philly, but the drive is much, much further. Plus, I%26#39;d take my chances with the bridge as much as would I95 in northern DE.

The bridge is really only bad at certain times and it is usually only east bound, but at those times when traffic is bad, it can be really bad.

I cross the bridge all the time (three times this week alone). If you time it right, you can cross in with not a car in front of you at the toll plaza and make it across in minutes.

If it is that much a concern, fly in the night or two before and pick your time to cross the bridge.

Gabby

US Air flies into Salisbury , Md . It would be a clear shot up U.S. 50 from there. Depends on how badly you want to avoid the bridge.

How about driving on 95N to 896 to Route 1 south through Dover? It is the long way around the bay from Annapolis but since I live in Harford County is the route I always use.

Thanks for the info. Guess I%26#39;m

over-reacting to the horror

stories I%26#39;ve heard about

';The Bridge';.

The Bridge traffic can be overrated. There are countless commuters who chose to live on the eastern shore and cross it everyday (part of the reason for the traffic). I%26#39;d guess that more than 60% of the Kent Island residents comunte accross the Bridge for work.

As long as you are not crossing the Bridge in the afternoon rush hour (and then the traffic is more in Annpolis getting to the bridge than at the bridge itself) or crossing on a Saturday mid-day during the summer (when the weekly vacation rentals are turning over) then traffic is tolerable. And honestly, for a passenger the tide accross the bridge is actually scenic.

Hey:

Thanks for the info. It seems you

and others that have replied are

helping me look forward to our

early June trip.

Thanks for the tip, but I

will never fly US Air anywhere.

I%26#39;d rather do the bridge and

am beginning to feel okay with

the route from Baltimore because

I%26#39;m getting quite a bit of

advise that%26#39;s making me okay

with it.

Too cold to swim.

But thanks anyway.
